About Me

Sotiris Zapantiotis

I am a 21 years old photographer from Greece, I used to live in Athens but now I live in Chania because I am studying Architectural Engineering in Technical University of Crete.

My journey in the magical world of photography started in 2017 when I bought my first dslr. Since then, continuous learning and practice have helped me to find my own photographic identity, vision and style.

The feeling of reward seeing that my photos have an impact in the eyes of experienced photography judge, is undoubtedly a motivation for me to continue being out in nature and continue making (not taking) photographs.

My view on photographic equipment is that it is only a tool in the hands of the photographer.

Photography is more than just equipment. Photography for me is painting with light and being out in nature is like a painter buying his canvas. No one became a good painter because he had expensive brushes.
